Qiwa End of Service Calculator: How to Use It (2026)
Quick answer: The Ministry of Human Resources' official end-of-service calculator (often called the Ministry of Labor or labor office calculator) is now on Qiwa, under Knowledge Hub → Tools and Calculators → End of Service Reward Calculator. It is free and asks for five things: contract type, termination reason, total salary, contract start date and contract end date.
Open the Qiwa calculator · or use the Hasebio calculator with a full breakdown
Where is the calculator?
- Direct link: qiwa.sa/en/tools-and-calculators/end-of-service-reward-calculator
- From the Qiwa menu: Knowledge Hub → Tools and Calculators → End of Service Reward Calculator
- The old calculator page on the HRSD website now shows “page not found” (checked 14 October 2026), so older links that point there no longer work.
How to use it, step by step
- Contract type: choose Fixed-term contract or Open-ended contract. Check your contract in Qiwa if you are not sure.
- Termination reason: pick the reason your contract ended (see the table below). The list is different for each contract type.
- Total salary: Qiwa defines this as the “latest sum of basic salary and all cash allowances”. Use your last basic salary plus housing, transport and other cash allowances, not basic salary alone.
- Contract start date and contract end date in DD/MM/YYYY.
- Click Calculate reward.
Which termination reason should you choose?
Qiwa lists 16–17 reasons, each named after a Labor Law article. These are the common situations and what the law gives you.
| What happened | Choose in Qiwa | End-of-service award |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed-term contract reached its end date | Termination of the contract upon its expiration | Full award |
| You resigned from a fixed-term contract | Employee resignation | None under 2 years, 1/3 from 2 to 5, 2/3 above 5 and under 10, full from 10 years |
| You ended an open-ended contract yourself | By the unilateral will of one of the parties (Article 75) | By law, the same resignation shares as above. Careful: Qiwa shows the full award here (see the test below) |
| The employer ended an open-ended contract | By the unilateral will of one of the parties (Article 75) | Full award |
| Fired without a valid reason | Termination without a legitimate reason (Article 77) | Full award, plus separate compensation for unfair termination |
| Dismissed for serious misconduct | Direct termination by the employer (Article 80) | No award |
| Contract ended during probation | Termination during the probationary period (Article 53) | No award |
| You left because the employer broke the contract or the law | Direct termination by the worker (Article 81) | Full award |
| A female worker resigned within 6 months of marriage or 3 months of childbirth | Termination by a female worker due to marriage / childbirth (Article 87) | Full award |
| Retirement age, permanent closure, end of the activity, inability to work, death | The matching Article 74 / 79 / 137 reason | Full award |
The Article 77 compensation is a separate amount and is not part of the end-of-service award.
We tested Qiwa against Hasebio
Same inputs in both calculators: total salary 8,000 SAR, 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2025 (4 years).
| Contract and reason | Qiwa | Hasebio |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed-term, contract reached its end date | 16,000 SAR | 16,000 SAR |
| Fixed-term, employee resignation (4 years = 1/3) | 5,333.33 SAR | 5,333.33 SAR |
| Open-ended, dismissed under Article 80 | 0 SAR | 0 SAR (no award) |
| Open-ended, unilateral will (Article 75) | 16,000 SAR | 16,000 SAR if the employer ended it; 5,333.33 SAR if you resigned |
The results match in every case except one. Qiwa's Article 75 option does not ask who ended the contract and always shows the full award. If the employer ended your open-ended contract, that is correct. If you resigned, Article 85 of the Labor Law reduces the award by your years of service, so the real amount is lower (one third in this example). If you resigned from an open-ended contract, treat the Qiwa figure as the maximum and check the resignation share in the resignation guide.
Hasebio also lets you enter whole years instead of dates and shows each step of the calculation, so you can see where every riyal comes from.
Why your employer's figure may differ
- Salary: the employer used basic salary only, while Qiwa uses basic plus all cash allowances.
- Dates: a different start date, or unpaid leave that was not counted as service.
- Reason: the employer recorded a different termination reason than the one you chose.
- Leave and last salary: the calculator gives the end-of-service award only. Unused leave and the last month's salary are paid on top (final settlement guide).
If the gap is real and the employer will not correct it, you can file a labor complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources.
