Dates in Saudi Arabia: Hijri and Gregorian
Saudi Arabia uses two calendars side by side. Government papers, iqama and many contracts show Hijri dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar, while salaries, banks and most companies use the Gregorian calendar. A Hijri year has 354 or 355 days, about 11 days shorter than a Gregorian year, so the same Hijri date moves earlier every Gregorian year. All Hasebio date tools use the official Umm al-Qura calendar, so the result matches government systems.
Amounts in words (tafqeet)
Cheques, invoices and contracts in Saudi Arabia often need the amount written in Arabic words, such as "فقط ألف ريال لا غير". The number to Arabic words tool writes riyals and halalas in correct Arabic, so you do not have to work out the grammar of numbers yourself.
Gold karats and weight
Gold shops in Saudi Arabia sell mostly 21 and 18 karat gold. 24 karat is pure gold, 21 karat is 87.5% gold and 18 karat is 75% gold. The gold converter shows how much pure gold a piece holds and its value at the price you enter, which also helps when you calculate zakat on gold.
Time and working days
Saudi Arabia uses one time zone, UTC+3, all year with no daylight saving time. The weekend is Friday and Saturday, so working days are Sunday to Thursday. The date calculator can leave out the weekend when it counts days, which is useful for notice periods, deliveries and deadlines.
Every tool on this page is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so the dates and amounts you enter stay on your device.
