What do 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K mean?

Karat shows how much of the metal is gold out of 24 parts. 24K is pure gold, 22K is 91.67%, 21K is 87.5% and 18K is 75%. The tool treats 24K as 100%; real 24K bars are about 99.9%.

How many grams are in a tola?

One tola is 11.6638 grams (10 tola is about 116.64 grams), the traditional unit used for gold in South Asia.

Which ounce is used for gold?

The troy ounce, which is 31.1035 grams. It is the ounce used for world gold prices.

Why is jewellery more expensive than its gold value?

Shops add making charges, and VAT may apply. This tool shows the value of the gold only.

Does the tool show today's gold price?
