Frequently asked questions

What is tafqeet?

Tafqeet means writing an amount in words. It makes cheques, invoices and contracts harder to change by mistake or on purpose.

How are riyals and halalas written?

One riyal is 100 halalas. The tool writes the riyals first, then the halalas, for example “one thousand two hundred thirty-four Saudi Riyals and fifty Halalas”.

Why does the Arabic noun change with the number?

Arabic grammar changes the counted noun: ريال واحد, ريالان, ثلاثة ريالات, أحد عشر ريالًا, مائة ريال. The tool applies these rules for you.

Should I write “فقط ... لا غير” on a cheque?

It is the usual style on Saudi cheques and the tool adds it by default. Untick the option if you only need the plain words. Follow your bank's format if it asks for something specific.

What is the largest amount I can enter?

Up to 999,999,999,999 riyals, with up to two decimals for halalas.

Can I copy the result?

Yes. Use the Copy button next to the Arabic or the English text.
