How this is estimated

GOSI uses the contributory wage (basic + housing, within GOSI limits). The end-of-service provision sets aside half a month of wage per year, the rate for the first five years. Iqama fees, work permit and levy come from our iqama calculator for a 12-month renewal. Insurance and other costs are your own figures. Rates last checked 2026-10-09.

Frequently asked questions

What does an employee cost beyond the salary?

Besides salary and allowances, the employer pays its GOSI share, and for non-Saudis the iqama fee, work permit and financial levy. Medical insurance and an end-of-service provision add to it.

What GOSI rates does the employer pay?

In the new system the employer pays the same pension rate as the employee (it rises 0.5% a year to 11%), SANED 0.75% and occupational hazards 2%. The calculator reads the current rate from our rules file.

Which wage is GOSI calculated on?

On basic salary plus housing allowance, within GOSI limits (minimum SAR 1,500, maximum SAR 45,000 a month).

What is the end-of-service provision?

Money set aside each month for the gratuity the employee earns. For the first five years it is half a month of wage per year, so the calculator adds wage × 0.5 ÷ 12 each month.

Does a non-Saudi employee cost less in GOSI?

GOSI covers non-Saudis only under the occupational hazards branch, so the employer pays just that 2% for a non-Saudi, but the iqama, work permit and levy usually cost more overall.

Does this include salary increases and annual leave pay?

No. It shows the cost of the salary you enter. Add raises and any bonuses yourself under other yearly costs.
